Clean Seabed

At Genoa’s 59th Nautical Exhibition

The cleaning of the sea and the sustainability of its ecosystem have been the core of the program of conventions and technical seminars of the last edition of Genoa’s Nautical Exhibition, that has just come to an end.

Within it, “The Blue Stars of the Mediterranean Sea”, the TV program the every year awards at national level those who – thanks to commitment, objectives and concrete actions – have demonstrated to be virtuous in the sustainable development and energetic saving,  decided to pay a particular attention to the initiative “Clean Seabed”, supported by Riso Scotti Snack that last summer interested the main towns of Liguria.

Our AD, Rosa Maria Giupponi, spoke of the initiative and announced the future introduction of the collected data, together with the activity of safe ports introduced by the Blue Stars of the Mediterranean Sea to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, in November. This is an appointment testifying the attention that the governments of the European Union are paying to the theme of environmental protection. The protection of the sea environment is slowly becoming a priority at world level. If to this day pollution and climate change were far from the attention of the public, being considered a matter to be discussed by experts, the problem of plastic in the sea broke through many people’s sensitivity, so that many governments decided to undertake actions aimed at limiting or at least holding back the employment of this material that seems to be indispensable.

The “Clean Seabed” initiative, promoted by Riso Scotti Snack, wanted to stress the serious danger of plastic in the sea, the tip of the iceberg that concerns all water resources of the planet of which, thanks to the cycle that sees it as a protagonist, sea water is the essential link. We don’t think of it often, but all our precious fresh water comes from the sea and it has been the key that gave rise to the commitment of Riso Scotti Snack for the Clean Seabed initiative.
